Meet your Chestnut Orchard Architect

Hi, I’m Scott Miller, Your Chestnut Orchard Architect.

I help Midwest landowners turn empty pasture into productive chestnut rows that yield food, seed, or income for years to come.

In Kansas, we don’t get gentle spring rains. We get May and June thunderstorms followed by drought. Early blooms get hit by late frosts. The weather doesn’t cooperate.

My designs account for all of it – capturing water when we have it, selecting varieties that handle the swings, and spacing rows so you can plant in the lanes between them as the chestnuts grow, and still run equipment through when they mature.

If you’re staring at pasture wondering where to start, worried about deer pressure, or unsure which varieties actually work in Zones 5 -7 – that’s exactly what I solve.

I grow many of these trees myself right here in Kansas, tried and tested.

I hold a Permaculture Design Certificate from Midwest Permaculture and work as a Project Manager, so I keep implementations on track.
